Gibsons J-45 is one of the most well-known acoustic guitars. This round-shoulder dreadnought, dubbed “The Workhorse,” delivers your music rich, balanced expression, warm bass, and superb projection. Because of its solid Sitka spruce top and solid mahogany body, the J-45 Standard has all of that rich tone. The Gibson J-45 body design, also known as “The Workhorse,” is one of Gibson’s most popular. This workhorse offers a wonderful tonewood combination that produces a deep, powerful sound day after day. The J-45 Standard has a strong, vintage-looking Sitka spruce top with fine mahogany back and sides for presence. Other features of the Gibson J-45 include hand-scalloped X-bracing, a compound dovetail neck joint, and multi-ply top and single-ply back body binding.
The fingerboard of the Gibson J-45 Standard is made of high-grade rosewood that is manually inspected and qualified by Gibson professionals before it reaches the Gibson facilities. It’s a tough and long-lasting wood that allows for a balanced and solid fingerboard and gives each chord and note more clarity and bite. The J-45’s dot inlays are made of genuine mother-of-pearl and are applied to the fingerboard using a custom Gibson process that minimizes gaps and eliminates the need for fillers. Furthermore, the J-45 Standard’s fingerboard has a little beveled rolled edge, which improves the instrument’s playability.
The Gibson Acoustic J-45 Standard has LR Baggs’ famous VTC acoustic pickup system, which is a popular choice among Gibson Guitar acoustic guitarists. This system includes a low-profile under-saddle transducer that improves pickup-to-guitar interaction for a powerful, energetic, and natural acoustic sound with superb dynamics and delicate high end. The VTC, when combined with an inbuilt preamplifier with an unobtrusive and removable volume control located right inside the soundhole, provides the amplification your J-45 Standard requires without sacrificing tone or comfort.
